Kia listed among best brands for fourth year

Kia has announced it has been ranked 74th on Interbrand’s 2015 list of 100 Best Global Brands.
The international brand consultancy featured the car manufacturer on its exclusive list for Best Global Brands for the fourth consecutive year, recognizing Kia’s growth in global prominence, according to a statement.

Interbrand attributed Kia’s success to “excellent design, high quality and innovative brand management in the global markets”.

“Kia’s commercial performance in the past calendar year is admirable given the challenging economic climate around the world. The manufacturer saw its brand value increase by 5% and this sustained growth gives Kia a current estimated value of $5.7bn. The company’s total brand value has grown by a remarkable 530% since 2007,” the statement notes.

Alex Chung, president of Kia Motors Middle East and Africa regional headquarters, said: “We are very proud to be featured as one of the top 100 global brands for 2015; such an honourable recognition is an incredible motivation for us to raise the bar for ourselves every year.”
2015 has proven to be a “highly rewarding year for Kia, receiving numerous accolades such as being ranked number one among mass market brands in JD Power’s Initial Quality Study”, the statement adds.

The Soul EV, the manufacturer’s first electronic vehicle sold, was crowned Car of the Year in Norway and also won the Best Eco-Friendly Vehicle at Motorweek’s 2015 Drivers’ Choice Awards.
Kia’s first appearance on Interbrand’s list of 100 Best Global Brands was in 2012, ranking 87th.
